Google Talk – the official client for Google’s Chat has won over many hearts already with it’s sleek and intuitive interface. Although it lacks in various features such as Video Chat, Google talk is still used by many. In this article we will tell you about 21 keyboard shortcuts in Google Talk (GTalk) that save your time and make you more productive.
Tab - It is giving the area to each of the windows opened by Google Talk. This can also be done using the Ctrl + I key combination.
Shift + Tab – This key combination does the same thing that is done by the Tab key as said above but in the reverse order. This can also be done using the Ctrl + Tab key combination.
Ctrl + F4 – This key combination closes the current window. This can also be done using the key combination Alt + F4 or just by pressing the Esc key.
Alt + Esc - Minimizes all the open Google Talk windows.
Windows + Esc – This will open Google Talk window and bring it to front if it's minimized or in the system tray.
Ctrl + E - It centralizes the selected text, or the current line.
Ctrl + R - It justifies to the right the selected text, or the current line.
Ctrl + L - It justifies to the left the selected text, or the current line.
Line / Text formatting
Ctrl + 1 (KeyPad) – Enters a simple space between the lines.
Ctrl + 2 (KeyPad) – Enters a double space between the lines.
Ctrl + 5 (KeyPad) – Enters 1.5 times the space between the lines.
Ctrl + 1 (NumPad) – Sends the text cursor to the end of the last line.
Ctrl + 7 (NumPad) – Sends the text cursor to the beginning of the last line.
Call / send e-mail
F9 - Opens Gmail website in your default web browser to send an email to the current contact (the one you are chatting with)
F11 – Initiates a telephonic call with the current contact, or answers to a telephonic call.
F12 – Cancels or hangs-up a telephonic call.
