Google has made available Google Chrome 5 developer's build for Windows and Mac. It is likely to be available for the general public by the end of next month. This developer build is off to a rough start with some features that were working perfectly in earlier builds not working in this build. However as this is a developer build it will not cause any problem with the general public.

Apart from the few rough edges, this build comes with some bug fixes and some new features. The new features include:

  • A Content Settings window in the Options menu is now available in the Windows build, with in-depth tweaks for cookies, images, JavaScript, plug-ins, and pop-ups.
  • The Windows build now saves downloads to the default downloads folder, unless it's been set to the desktop.
  • The Mac build now has better plug-in stability and a search field for the cookies manager.
