Install Choqok 1.0 Beta 2 From PPA [Kubuntu 10.04 & 10.10]
Today Twitter is ending support for the basic authentication in favour of OAuth. So, if you are a Choqok user, you have to upgrade to Choqok 1.0 Beta 2 in order to continue using Twitter. In an earlier post we gave the link to the source. But not everybody can build from source and even when you can, when it is already available in a PPA, why bother?
Choqok 1.0 Beta 2 is not yet available in either the Backports or the Beta Backports PPA. So, we are going to use Adilson dos Santos Dantas's Experimental PPA.
Open the Konsole and execute the following commands:
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:adilson/experimental
$ sudo apt-get update
If you already have Choqok (earlier version) installed,
$ sudo apt-get upgrade
Or, if you do have Choqok installed,
$ sudo apt-get install choqok
After installation, you may want to refer to our guide on how to use OAuth in Choqok.
