Install Adobe Flash Player 10.2 “Square” 64-bit In Ubuntu

By on September 16th, 2010

Earlier, Adobe Flash 10.2 Player "Square" was released for Windows, Mac and Linux - with 64-bit support.

If you want t install it in Ubuntu (9.10, 10.04 & 10.10), there is already a PPA just for that. Simply follow these steps:

Note: This is a prview; not the final release.

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sevenmachines/flash

$ sudo apt-get update

$ sudo apt-get install flashplugin64-nonfree

      Hi. Didn’t flashplugin64-nonfree work for you? I checked the PPA just now. It is flashplugin64-nonfree.

      Since Natty is only in the alpha stage, a lot of software would not work with it right now. Hopefully it’ll work by the time the stable build is released.

    To make flash player x64 work on Ubuntu you need to download it from the official site then extract it and place extracted .so file into /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins directory. Reload Firefox and ENJOY!
