So, it's official. Microsoft has finally pulled the plug on Internet Explorer 6 browser. IE6 has always been a pain for web developers and designers owing to it's lack of newer and emerging W3 standards. Many big organizations like Google and Facebook have already discontinued support for IE6 on their various products.
The current browser market share of IE6 happens to be around 12% and Microsoft aims to bring this down to less than 1%. Microsoft has started a campaign called the Internet Explorer 6 Countdown that aims at educating people about the fact that IE6 is now outdated and users should start upgrading to IE7, IE8 or the upcoming IE9.
