A few days back we showed you some leaked screenshots of the Windows 8 Welcome Screen and the Windows Explorer. Now, some more details about the features of Windows 8 have surfaced on the web. If you remember, we had told you that Windows 8 might have the Metro UI from Windows Phone 7.

Immersive UI

Although, the above is not totally correct but the new UI of Windows 8 is going to be called the Immersive UI. As of now much information is not available about this Immersive UI apart from the fact that in the Immersive UI,  IE 9's browser history looks same as tabs in IE Mobile - square and simple thumbnails and has some nice site colorization functionality.

Built-In PDF Reader

Windows 8 will also have an in-built PDF reader just like Linux systems have. According to WinSuperSite,  this built-in PDF application is simple and displays PDF documents fully. You can zoom in and out and use the page scrubber on the side of the application window for document navigation.

AppX

Well, the Modern Reader we told about you above is  perhaps the first AppX application. In simple terms, AppX applications are meant to run on a lot of platforms including Windows 8 Desktop, Tablets and Windows Phone 8. The idea is to help developers build applications which run on as many platforms as possible.
