CentOS Linux 6.0 Released

The CentOS team just announced the availability of CentOS Linux version 6.0 for both i386 and x86_64 architectures. CentOS 6.0 is based on the upstream release of RHEL 6.0 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and includes packages from all variants.

CentOS Linux has come a long way from being a free RedHat Linux clone to becoming one of the mostly used free enterprise class linux distributions of today. The CentOS team just announced the availability of CentOS Linux version 6.0 for both i386 and x86_64 architectures.

CentOS 6.0 is based on the upstream release of RHEL 6.0 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and includes packages from all variants. All upstream repositories have been combined into just the one repository in order to make it easier for end users to work with.

Given the fact that upstream has a 6.1 version released already CentOS will be using a Continous Release repository for 6.0 to bring all 6.1 and post 6.1 security updates to all 6.0 users.
