There has already been a lot of voice all over the web regarding Google's Panda update in their search algorithms. These new changes have led to loss of traffic for many webmasters. However, what we have been noticing off late is that the search results, which Google shows up after the Panda update, are quite irrelevant and different from the query originally searched for.

Take for example this query: Download Firefox 5 Ubuntu

If you check the screenshot below, you can see that the first page for the search results of the above query does not have one single result about Firefox 5 browser. Whereas check the results served by Bing for the same query keywords. Bing shows a couple of relevant results with websites that have content related to the keywords, searched for.

And here is a screen shot of the search results page for the same set of query keywords on Bing search:

We have also noticed on other occasions that search results pages contains links to the bugzillas of various open source projects when you search for a particular problem with one of these projects. Linking the bugzilla is okay, but placing it over another webpage which already has to the point solution of the problem makes things only more difficult for the user who is searching for the problem.

Google has announced that it is going to introduce more changes in it's search ranking algorithm. Lets hope these new changes do  away with the unwanted changed which have been brought into effect as a result of the panda update.
