How To Install Amarok 2.2.2 Beta 1 Tattoo in (K)Ubuntu 9.10

Amarok 2.2.2 Beta 1, nicknamed "Tattoo" was released about a week ago. Now, it is available for (K)Ubuntu 9.10 users in the Kubuntu Beta PPA.

Amarok 2.2.2 Beta 1 "Tattoo" brings many new changes. Most notable changes are two features from Amarok 1.4 series that has made a comeback:

  • The Moodbar
  • Custom Labels for music

To install Amarok 2.2.2 Beta 1, simply follow the steps below:

  • Add the Kubuntu Beta Repository. (Skip this step if you already have it)

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/beta

  • Update the software list

sudo apt-get update

  • Install Amarok 2.2.2 Beta 1 "Tatoo".

sudo apt-get install amarok
