If you are a regular user of Windows Live SkyDrive, then sit tight. A new version of Windows Live SkyDrive is coming your way soon. It is being said that Microsoft is working towards bringing major changes in the Live SkyDrive storage service which involves a massive integration of HTML5 elements. For the ones, who are not aware of SkyDrive, it is one of the many free and reliable cloud storage services out there. (Read our comparision of various Could Storage services).

Here is a quick snapshot of the new features that you may expect in the upcoming version of Windows Live SkyDrive:

  • Completely new interface which includes an HTML5 version of the image viewer and a revamped interface to view documents and uploaded files.
  • More synchronization between mobile versions of Microsoft Office applications and SkyDrive

Although there has been no official release date for the new Windows Live SkyDrive but we expect it to be available for users by the mid 2012. Here are a few more screenshots of the HTML5 Album / Photo viewer in SkyDrive:
