KDE was voted as the best desktop environment of the year 2008 by the members of LinuxQuestions.org. This award will surely add some feathers to KDE's cap and also provide some relief to the KDE team, which lately has been involved in a lot of controversies due to KDE 4.0, which failed to live up to the user's' expectations. But as of now, KDE 4.2 looks promising, and expectations are higher than ever before. This award signifies that users out there still have faith up on the KDE team and prefer KDE over any other desktop environment.

Other laurels which went to KDE's favour include that for  'Amarok ', which emerged as the winner  in the "Audio Media Player Application" category and ' K3b' which wins in the "Multimedia Utility" category.

So, Mr. Linus Torvalds, are you listening ?
