Your very own GMail and other Google Apps are no more a BETA!
Google products such as GMail, Google Calender and Google Talk have been in BETA since long. According to the Google blog GMail has been in Beta over 5 years. Many have also criticized Google for bringing out Beta products and many have also tried to show indifference to Google by bringing out ads that particularly raise this point of Google products being in Beta. But what people fail to understand is that the Google products are in a perpetual BETA, i.e. these products are under constant development.
But now Google has set Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Talk — both enterprise and consumer versions — out of beta. The Beta tag will be removed from the product logos today, but as the Google Blog says, removing the Beta tag doesn't mean that development for these products would stop, they will still continue to innovate and improve upon the applications - The Google "No Beta Apps". Although Google will officially remove the beta tag from the product logos, you can retain the logo with the beta tag still there but only for GMail. Via [Google Blog]
