Internet giant Google is all set to enter your living room. At the Google I/O in May this year, Google announced Google TV.
Google TV is expected to be available starting next week. Today they have launched the website for Google TV.
With the site, Google has finally shed some light on the features of Google TV. Here is a brief summary:
- A major feature of Google TV is apps. Google TV will come preloaded with apps like Twitter, Netflix, NBA Game Time, Pandora, Amazon Video on demand. From next year Android apps will also work with Google TV. This could be the killer feature of Google TV.
- There is also a version of YouTube optimized for large screens. It will also support Leanback – which means that you can watch your favorite videos one after the other without clicking.
- You can share what you are watching, listening or doing on your phone with Google TV. You can also use your Android phone or iPhone as the remote control.
- Google TV will also allow you to watch TV and browse the internet simultaneously.
- And perhaps the biggest feature of Google TV is that major TV networks like HBO, CNN, TNT, TBS etc. have a neat portal.
