KDE SC 4.4 RC 1 was released a few days back with a lot of new features. Now it is available for OpenSUSE. In this article, we are tell you how to install KDE SC 4.4 RC 1 in OpenSUSE 11.2.
WARNING: THIS IS NOT A FINAL BUILD. SO IT IS RECCOMENDED THAT YOU DO NOT INSTALL IT IN A PRODUCTION MACHINE.
To install KDE SC 4.4 RC 1, in OpenSUSE 11.2, just follow the following steps:
- Open the terminal (Konsole).
- Add the repository with the command:
sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.2/ openSUSE\ 11.2\ KDE\ Factory\ Desktop
- Add the community repository with:
sudo zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.2_KDE4_Factory_Desktop/ openSUSE\ 11.2\ KDE\ Factory\ Community
- If you want the repositories to refresh automatically, execute:
sudo zypper mr -r openSUSE\ 11.2\ KDE\ Factory\ Community && sudo zypper mr -r openSUSE\ 11.2\ KDE\ Factory\ Desktop
- Now you can update to KDE SC 4.4 RC 1 with the command,
sudo zypper up
