Ubuntu PySDMIn Ubuntu, your windows partitions have to be configured to mount automatically. Although there is the long, boring command line way of automatically mounting your Windows partitions by editing a file called fstab, we have already told you about a nifty GUI based tool called PySDM using which you can easily configure your Windows partitions to mount automatically.

However, the default settings in PySDM would only automatically mount partitions for the Root user (Super User).  With the basic PySDM setup, you may end up getting an error while Ubuntu tries to mount the partitions automatically, saying Only Root is allowed to mount this partition. In order to have PySDM mount all partitions automatically for all users including the Root user you have to add these settings as shown here.

Step 1: For installing PySDM and knowing about how to configure it for basic auto-mount setups, read this guide first.

Step 2: Now in the field for Options, enter: defaults, users, noauto.See this screenshot below for details:

Step 3: Click on Apply and then close. Now after you restart Ubuntu you can see that all users are able to mount your configured hard disk partitions automatically.
