How to stop your picture from appearing in the MyBlogLog widget in other blogs?

mybloglog logo If you are an user of the MyBlogLog service provided by Yahoo! then you may have noticed that your profile picture shows up on blogs that use the recent visitors widgets from MyBlogLog. In case you do not want your profile picture to show up on the MyBlogLog widgets of those blogs, then we have a short tip for you. This feature of showing your profile pictures on the MyBlogLog widgets is known as data collection from MyBlogLog. When you choose not to appear on those widgets, MyBlogLog simply sets a cookie in your browser that asks it’s widgets to not collect any data.

Here is how you do it. Log into MyBlogLog and visit the Data Collection page: www.mybloglog.com/buzz/opt_out.php. On this page click on the Opt-Out of MyBlogLog data collection button. Once the settings get saved just re-start your browser once. From now on you won’t appear on any MyBlogLog widgets.

In order to opt-in again just click on the same button once again and save your settings.

To opt-out of data collection from MyBlogLog, click on the button below. Please note that when you do so, our system will set the following cookie: “mbl_sid=Nxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx” in your browser. The capital letter N simply means “do not collect my data”.
