After the new slick touch site, Facebook has introduced another change, this time in the home page of the Full Site. They have introduced Live Feed and News Feed.

The change Facebook has introduced to the home page is a very impressive change. What they have done is divided the home page feed into to Live Feed and News Feed. You can switch to either of them anytime. The contents in News Feed are those which Facebook thinks you will be interested in seeing. This is decided by how many other people have liked it, how many have commented etc. This is particularly useful when you have just logged in and wants to know what has been going on while you were gone. The Live Feed is, well as the name says, real time feed. While you are viewing the News Feed, new stories in the Live Feed is indicated by a number next to the Live Feed link. Here is a screenshot:

Facebook explained that this change is necessitated due to the introduction of real-time feed in the home page about 6 months ago. While real-time feed is extremely valuable, it can also mean that you miss interesting posts or discussions if you were gone for some time. With the introduction of the News Feed, Facebook hopes that users can enjoy the best of both worlds.
