Now that Fedora 12 Constantine is available, we will tell you how to create a Live USB boot disk so that you can install Fedora 12 on your computer without wasting a CD (read: burning the iso on to the CD). You can use this USB boot disk both as a Live Fedora 12 system and also to install Fedora 12 on your computer.

1. Download the Fedora 12 Live CD (Desktop Edition). This is an ISO image which is approximately 660MB worth download. Take a quick look at some promising features in Fedora 12.

2. Download the latest version of Fedora LiveUSB Creator. It is available for both Windows (11MB) and Linux (160KB). The latest version of Fedora LiveUSB Creator as of writing this article is 3.8.7 If you are using an earlier version of Fedora to create this Live bootabe USB stick, then you can just use this command to install LiveUSB Creator on your system:

sudo yum -y install liveusb-creator

3. Now start the Liveusb-Creator program that you just downloaded. Specify the location of you downloaded Fedora 12 Live CD Image. In case you have not downloaded the image yet, you can leave the Use Existing Live CD field blank and select the version of Fedora from the Download list. It will automatically download the image for you.

Note: The USB drive that you are using must be formatted in FAT32 format if you are creating the Live disk from Windows and the drive should be formatted in ext3 if you are using it in Linux.
