How to reset your GNOME keyring password?

GNOME keyring as already talked about earlier is a password and key management tool for GNOME. In this article we will tell you how to quickly reset the GNOME keyring access password.

To reset you password you have to just delete the local keyring settings file. All you have to do is issue this command in a terminal:

rm .gnome2/keyrings/login.keyring

You may try this command if the above does not work:

rm .gnome2/keyrings/*

You may try this command if the above does not work:

rm .gnome2/keyrings/default.keyring

Next time when you try to access an application that initiates the GNOME keyring, you will be prompted to enter a new keyring password. You also may like to disable GNOME Keyring completely.
