Prism is a Firefox Labs product – an application that lets users build their own web applications out of the web page version of their favourite websites which they view on browsers and let them run these applications directly on the desktop. For example, you can make your own twitter client that will help you post your tweets. Prism is currently available for download both as a Firefox Extension and as a standalone installer and is currently supported over all Linux, Windows and Mac operating Systems.
