Linux offers Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V paste just like Windows. But it also has a second way of copy/paste. This one's easier, faster and more efficient than the traditional method.

To Copy some text in Linux

All you need to do is just select (highlight) it with your mouse pointer. This highlighted text gets stored in the X buffer. This is possible only in Linux.

To Paste the text

After you have copied some particular text, all you need to do to paste it is just hit the 3rd button of your mouse at the point where you want the text to be pasted. The third button functionality in a modern day mouse is emulated when you PRESS the scroll wheel down.
