Today I updated Chromium from the Dev Channel and found that it now has the apps section and a link for the Chrome Web Store by default. They could be enabled in earlier builds too but you needed to start from the command-line with an extension. Now, all you have to do is just start normally.

Google Chrome has entered version 7 in the development channel.

More accurately, the Dev Channel has been updated to 7.0.503.0 for Windows and Mac, and 7.0.503.1 for Linux. This update fixes some bugs from earlier releases. The omnibox now accepts the IP address when offline. There is also a Mac specific update with the Wrench menu. Now the Wrench menu does not close after using the zoom button. The highlight-on-hover effect has also been implemented for the Wrench menu.

Today Mozilla announced the availability Firefox 4 Beta 4. The new release features two new features – Panorama and Sync.

Panorama, which was earlier known as Tab Candy, has been available in the Ubuntu PPA for sometime now. It allows users to get an overview of the open tabs and to quickly organize the open tabs. This a a killer-feature for those who invariably have a lot of open tabs. It not only looks cleaner than having all tabs open, it will also make users much more efficient in what they are doing. Twitter has started their process of migrating to OAuth authentication a few days back. They are decreasing the number of updates per hours a client can have if they are using the basic authentication. Yesterday it was 75 requests per hour and today it has been reduced to 30 per hour. So, if you are still using the old basic authentication, you may have problems.

Gnash 0.88 has been released yesterday. Gnash (or GNU Flash Player) is an open-source Flash player. With this latest release, they have made a great leap by supporting all YouTube videos.
