The Ubuntu One Music Store is coming in Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx in Rythmbox. This means that Canonical is planning to have Rythmbox as a the “iTune of Ubuntu”. With iPhones/iPod Touch now working out-of-the-box in Ubuntu Lucid Lynx, it seems all good for Rythmbox. However, there is still a problem with Rythmbox not being able to sync with Nexus One.
Here is a hack (a really simple one actually) you can do to have Rythmbox being able to sync with your Nexus One:
- Create a new file and name it .is_audio_player
- Open the file and copy the content below in it. Save.
audio_folders=Music/ folder_depth=2 output_formats=audio/mpeg,audio/mp3
- Now, copy the file to the root of the SD card of your Nexus One.
- Unmount and remount the Nexus One. Now Rythmbox should detect it.
