When I reviewed Peppermint Ice, I pointed out that the lack of better integration with Google Docs as a hindrance to users. Ubuntu developer Martin Owen has nothing to with Peppermint Ice, but he has done what I was asking for from Pepermint Ice. He has made it possible to mount Google Docs as a folder in Nautilus. It is quite a useful feature.
Anyway, to do this you need to add Martin’s PPA and install a couple of packages. Open the terminal and execute the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:doctormo/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gdocs-mount-gtk
The last command will ask for permission to install a couple of other packages. Install those packages as well.
After the installation, go to Applications > Accessories > Google Doc Connection. You will be asked to enter your Gmail id and your password. Once entered, you will find it your Google Docs as a folder in Nautilus.
I hope the Peppermint team pick this up and implement it in Peppermint Ice.
