Update: Bruce Perens, the creator of the Open Source Definition and co-founder of the Open Source Initiative, has told us that David Heinemeier Hansson, the creator of Ruby On Rails, forgot to renew the domain. So, it was not a hack just a domain expiration afterall.

While we were looking at the Ruby On Rails website for the Ruby On Rails Summer Of Code, we noticed that it leads to a page full of ads only not the actual website.

We thought the domain could have been expired so we checked on whois.net. According to the result, the domain will not expire till 19 April 2011; however it was updated on 20 April 2010 i.e. today.

We cannot confirm if the website has been hacked or not. But something certainly seems to be wrong with the website.
