Opera Announces Mini 6 Browser For iOS

Opera Software unveiled a new version of its mobile browser for Apple's iPhone and iPad on Tuesday - Opera Mini 6 for iOS (iTunes link). The new browser is available on the App Store for iPhone and iPad now free of charge, geared up with some cool new features and a bunch of bug fixes.

New Features :

  • sports a new and improved design, including a new skin, and new zoom and jump buttons for easy touch-navigation.
  • Share links directly to major social network sites, directly from Opera Mini 6.
  • launch Mobile YouTube video directly on your device's native media player.
  • a new user interface designed especially for tablet users.

Opera Mini has always been the most favorite browser for many people. The browser has got a better speed and the user interface that it has can be considered to be the best. Opera Software says the browser features up to 90% compression of data traffic for faster browsing.

There is no doubt about the fact that when it comes to mobile browsing Opera is a kingpin. Opera is the world's most used mobile browser ahead of Google's Android, Apple, and Nokia controlling 21.6 percent of the market in May so far. The Android, iPhone and Nokia browsers all have 16-17 percent market shares.

When the Opera Mini iPhone app hit the market for the first time in April 2010, it proceeded to get downloaded 1 million times in its first day. This time, with some new features, its going to be used widely again.
