Opera 10.50 released for Windows – Calls itself the “fastest browser on earth”
The final build of Opera 10.50 is finally out for Windows. Opera claims that this is the "fastest browser on earth". Opera 10.5 features a new JavaScript engine, Carakan and a new graphics library called Vega. Opera claims that this has resulted in a browsing speed increase of 700% from the Futhark JavaScript engine used in Opera 10.10.
The new HTML5 <video> element is also supported with this release. Opera has replaced the menu bar with the menu button resulting in increased room for content on the screen. The new version also integrates with Windows 7/Vista, letting you access your Speed Dials, tabs and other features directly from the taskbar. It also comes with Opera Unite. Finally, Opera’s private browsing features allow you to browse privately either in a tab or a separate window.
The all new Opera 10.50 can be downloaded from the Opera website.
Opera 10.50 is not however available for Linux yet. However, if you want to get a taste, you can install the Alpha by following these instructions.
