Google Tasks as a standalone app – access it without logging into Gmail
Google Tasks is a simple way to manage your to-do list right inside your Gmail. Google Tasks was, until now, available only via Gmail or the iGoogle Gadget. To enable it in GMail you need to goto
GMail Settings > Labs > Enable Tasks
But now it seems that Google has launched Google Tasks as a standalone app.
But according to a news source, this release is just for testers and not meant for regular use. The Standalone version of Google Tasks lets you add tasks as you would do in the GMail version but it won`t let you delete any of the Tasks. You can just strike them off once done.
