So, how many of you reading this post actually use WhatsApp? Well, I do. WhatsApp is one amazing messaging technology for mobile phone devices and tablets that connects users based on their mobile phone numbers.

If you install WhatsApp today on your phone, you need not go ahead and find users to add for chat, WhatsApp reads your contacts and adds users automatically on your chatlist. You may ask whats the big deal? Well, what WhatsApp does is provide a free cross platform mobile chatting mechanism. Its like the mother of BBM (BlackBerry Messaging).

The WhatsApp team recently announced on its blog that it has crossed a milestone of delivering 1 billion messages everyday in all which counts down to 41,666,667 messages an hour, 694,444 messages a minute and 11,574 messages a second! This definitely makes WhatsApp the most used messaging app on all mobile platforms.

With all this achievements in place, it is high time WhatsApp starts taking care of its mobile app's performance on various devices. I have used the WhatsApp chat client on two handsets (HTC Wildfire and Nokia N8) and have not had a very pleasant experience on both. Time lag in message delivery, long startup times, over slow performance are some of the problems which I have already faced with this app.

Whatever it is, WhatsApp has definitely achieved something very great in the mobile space and we wish them all good luck in the near future with all their forthcoming endeavors.
