Windows 8 Final (RTM) Coming In April 2012?
From the previews and the feature leaks of Windows 8 on the internet, one thing is sure that Windows 8 is going to redefine operating systems and desktop computing. Earlier, we had told you that Microsoft may release Windows 8 in October 2012, but now it looks like April 2012 is the new release month for Windows 8. We are saying release month because we are not sure about the exact launch date in April.

Renowned Microsoft blogger Mary-Jo Foley claims that her very reliable sources have tipped her about Microsoft's plans to launch the RTM (Release To Manufacturing) version of Windows 8 by April 2012, which almost nine months from now. RTM is a term which is generally used for a software, when it is ready for delivery or has been delivered to the user.
Here is the proposed release schedule for Windows 8:
- Mid-September 2011: Beta version of Windows 8. This is supposed to be the only beta release of Windows 8 (unlike Windows 7).
- Around January 2012: Release Candidate (RC) or test build of Windows 8 will be available.
- By April 2012: The Final version will be launched - Windows 8 RTM
Microsoft wants to provide users a seamless experience with Windows 8. We have already told you earlier that Windows 8 will be released in multiple versions which are customised to run on various kinds of devices such as tablets, mobile phones and not just limited to Desktops and Laptops.

The idea is to make things simple for users by giving them ONE common operating system for all their Laptops, Desktops, Tablets and Mobile Phones. Although this may not be that true, but Microsoft also has plans for manufacturing special computers and devices for Windows 8.
