Last week, we published a story about Oracle removing blog posts by former Sun CEO Jonathan Schwartz congratulating Google on Android. However, things may not be what it seems. There is a possibility that Schwartz published his blog post prematurely without a full understanding of what Google was planning.

The patent war between HTC and Apple is about to get a lot interesting. Earlier this month, HTC announced that they are acquiring S3 Graphics Co. for $300 million. By acquiring S3 Graphics, HTC will come in possession of S3 Graphics' patent portfolio. HTC is now threatening to use these newly acquired patents to take the fight back to Apple.

Many websites have started offering Google +1 in exchange for money. A website plussem.com is offering +1s at the rate of $20 for 50, $70 for 250 and $350 for 2000. Apparently, all of these +1 will not come from bots.

Mozilla has launched a new project called “Boot to Gecko”. The aim of this project is to develop a complete operating system for the open web. Unlike Google’s version of a web-based OS – the Chrome OS – Mozilla’s version is not aimed at netbooks. With Boot to Gecko, Mozilla is aiming for smartphones – and Android forms a part of their plan.
